About Pilates TrendsEighteen years ago I began to suffer from a series of back and shoulder problems, starting with a herniated disc aggravated by extended hours of sitting at work. Following three months of physio and lots of rest I was back to as 'normal' as I was going to be for someone with mild scoliosis and a job that required many hours of sitting that I just couldn't give up. Yes, some people really do love their their work! This event really opened my eyes to need for me to be pro-active in preventing chronic back problems. Through the years I have tried to maintain a high level of fitness through various activities and fitness programs, but until I discovered Pilates I had not found anything that did two very important thingsmade me feel good after each workout and captured my interest enough to make me really want to keep learning and practicing. To discover how good Pilates is for many common lower back problems has been a real bonus.
Pilates Trends was born out of this desire to learn more about the practice of Pilates and how it can help people of all ages and interests. More importantly, it is a way to share this information and encourage others to share the benefits. Join me in exploring the world of Pilatesthe perfect fitness program for everyone!
