Pilates Magic Circle : the original tempered stainless-steel Magic Circle developed by Joseph Pilates is still available, and in addition, it has been re-created in models using newer materials. The idea of the Magic Circle is to provide resistance during exercise and movement to improve muscle strength. It can be used to target specific areas, as well as incorporated into a complete exercise sequence. Look for Magic Circles sold with videos, dvds or printed manuals with comprehensive information on how to properly use the Pilates Magic Circle. Pilates Flex Bands : Also called Resistance tubing, are also designed to provide resistance to strengthen muscles in exercises and movements. Easier to handle and learn, Flex Bands made in a variety of tensions, or resistance, are ideal to introduce you to adding resistance before you advance to using the Magic Circle. Pilates Rings : Simple rings can be added to some Pilates arm and leg movements to increase the challenge, or to work on specific areas for toning and flexibility. These rings are small and lightweight. You will sometimes see the designs similar to the Magic Circle marketed as 'Pilates Rings' as well.
