Pilates Accessories ~ challenge your home practice

Whether you attend a Pilates class on a regular basis or do your workouts only at home, you'll find there is a great selection of accessories that will enhance your practice and add both interest and challenge as you become more advanced. Pilates Balance balls, rings and flex bands make it easy to take your workout with you when you travel, or even every day to work.

Add a little challenge to your Pilates practice

Pilates accessories and props are designed to help you add new exercises to your regimen and to increase some of the benefits of a variety of exercise. Adding resistance with Flex Bands or the original Magic Circle designed by Joseph Pilates, help to improve strengthening; adding an unstable base using a Pilates Balance Ball helps improve your balance.

As your experience increases, experiment with different types of props and accessories to see which ones add interest and challenge for you—remember Pilates is designed to be a personalized exercise program for every individual.

Pilates accessories - balance ballPilates Balance Ball : ideal for developing and improving balance and core stability. Many exercises that are normally performed on a florr mat can be modified to perform on a Pilates ball to increase the challenge to your stability.

Pilates Magic Circle : the original tempered stainless-steel Magic Circle developed by Joseph Pilates is still available, and in addition, it has been re-created in models using newer materials. The idea of the Magic Circle is to provide resistance during exercise and movement to improve muscle strength. It can be used to target specific areas, as well as incorporated into a complete exercise sequence. Look for Magic Circles sold with videos, dvds or printed manuals with comprehensive information on how to properly use the Pilates Magic Circle.

Pilates Flex Bands : Also called Resistance tubing, are also designed to provide resistance to strengthen muscles in exercises and movements. Easier to handle and learn, Flex Bands made in a variety of tensions, or resistance, are ideal to introduce you to adding resistance before you advance to using the Magic Circle.

Pilates Rings : Simple rings can be added to some Pilates arm and leg movements to increase the challenge, or to work on specific areas for toning and flexibility. These rings are small and lightweight. You will sometimes see the designs similar to the Magic Circle marketed as 'Pilates Rings' as well.

It is constructed with heavy-duty elastic cords with dual resistance—compression and expansion. With a comprehensive, easy-to-follow instructional video, you can use the Stamina Pilates Magic Circle with Video to improve muscle strength in problem areas like the inner and outer thighs, upper arms and chest and pelvic muscles.
